Introduced with 2022's Modern Warfare 2, Call of Duty: Warzone's DMZ mode offered a fresh take on the franchise's traditional gameplay. This free-to-play PvPvE experience drew inspiration from titles like Escape from Tarkov, though it never achieved the same popularity as Warzone's battle royale format.
