Sucker Punch has officially announced the date for the highly anticipated Ghost of Yotei State of Play event, and fans won't have to wait much longer. Since its initial reveal last September, details about the game have been scarce, leaving players eager for more information.

The trailers released so far have introduced players to the new protagonist Atsu and revealed that the game is set 300 years after the events of the first installment. Atsu's journey of vengeance against the Yotei Six will take her through the northern regions of Japan, including parts of modern-day Hokkaido. As with previous projects, Sucker Punch has conducted extensive research to ensure a respectful portrayal of Ainu culture within the game.

After teasing a dedicated State of Play event in July, Sucker Punch has now confirmed that the showcase will take place on July 10, 2025, starting at 5pm ET. The event, which will be hosted by Creative Directors Jason Connell and Nate Fox, promises a 20-minute deep dive into various gameplay elements.

The State of Play will showcase Atsu's arsenal, including weapons like spears, bows, rifles, katanas, and kusarigama. Players can also expect to see customization options, special combat modes, and cinematic finishing moves. Some of these details were hinted at in the recent ESRB rating, which confirmed the game's mature themes of blood, violence, and strong language.
