The project was unveiled during Anime Expo 2025 in Los Angeles under the leadership of veteran producer Shinji Hashimoto. Known for his significant contributions to the Final Fantasy series during his tenure at Square Enix, Hashimoto has brought his creative vision to this exciting new Resident Evil experience.

The game introduces a compelling narrative where players awaken in an abandoned Umbrella Corporation facility after being kidnapped for sinister experiments.
