Ubisoft has finally provided a clearer timeline for the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows' first major DLC, Claws of Awaji. Originally announced before the base game's launch, this expansion has been eagerly awaited by fans, and now they have a more precise window for its arrival.

Despite recent challenges for Ubisoft, including the struggles of Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin's Creed Shadows has been a bright spot for the company. The game recently surpassed five million players, demonstrating the enduring popularity of the franchise.

According to Ubisoft's latest earnings call, the Claws of Awaji DLC is scheduled for release in Q2 of FY2025, which concludes at the end of September. This aligns with earlier rumors suggesting a September or October launch. The expansion will take players to the island of Awaji, where protagonists Noae and Yasuke will embark on a treasure hunt while evading the Sanzoku Ippa. New skills and a weapon type will also be introduced, offering fresh content for returning players.

Ubisoft continues to invest heavily in the Assassin's Creed franchise, with rumors of an Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag remake and other titles like Hexe and Jade in development. For now, the focus remains on supporting Assassin's Creed Shadows with post-launch content.
