Activision has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Season 5 roadmap for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Following a somewhat underwhelming previous season, the developers have pulled out all the stops to reignite player excitement as we approach the next major release in the franchise. The season is set to launch in early August with a host of fresh content that promises to shake up the gameplay experience.

The official announcement came via a July 28 tweet from the Call of Duty team, confirming that Black Ops 6 Season 5 will commence on August 7 at 9 AM PST. While the initial teaser only hinted at the return of operator Sims wielding what appeared to be an M249 LMG, the full roadmap now reveals a much more comprehensive picture of what players can expect in the coming months.

Season 5 introduces three brand-new multiplayer maps, including a fresh take on the fan-favorite WMD location. Mid-season will see the addition of Jackpot, a casino-inspired arena reminiscent of Black Ops 4's popular design. Zombies enthusiasts have particular reason to celebrate, as the long-teased final Zombies map for Black Ops 6 - now officially named Reckoning - will be available at launch, complete with the futuristic Gorgofex weapon and the formidable Uber Klaus boss encounter.

Contrary to early speculation, the weapon spotted in promotional materials isn't the M249 LMG but rather a new firearm called the PML 5.56. The season will also introduce the ABR A1 assault rifle and Gravemark .357 revolver at different intervals, along with an unconventional melee option - boxing gloves. These new armaments will be complemented by returning and innovative game modes, including the high-stakes Aim High (where only headshots count) and fan favorites like Snipers Only and Cranked Moshpit.
