After 23 years since its original release, PAC-MAN WORLD 2 is receiving a modern remake titled PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC. The exciting announcement was made during the latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, where Bandai Namco revealed this revitalized version of the beloved platformer alongside other major Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 titles.

This sequel to 1999's PAC-MAN WORLD follows the successful 2022 remake of the first game, which introduced 4K resolution at 60fps, refined gameplay mechanics, redesigned boss battles, and an improved HUD. The original remake earned positive reviews, currently holding a 71 score on OpenCritic.

Bandai Namco describes PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC as a "full remake of the beloved classic," promising enhanced gameplay, full character voice acting, new collectibles, and customization options. Notably, this marks the first time the PAC-MAN WORLD series will include a two-player couch co-op mode.

Scheduled for release on September 26, 2025, PAC-MAN WORLD 2 Re-PAC will be available on multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch/Switch 2, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Players can choose between Digital Standard and Digital Deluxe editions, with the latter including exclusive Collaboration DLC content. Owners of the 2022 remake will receive a special in-game costume for TOC-MAN, the series' iconic antagonist.
