In a groundbreaking move for the franchise, Persona 5: The Phantom X is set to introduce the series' first elderly Persona user. The upcoming update will feature 75-year-old Chizuko "Vino" Nagao alongside the return of Persona 5's beloved Phantom Thief, Makoto Nijima (Queen).

The Persona spin-off has faced recent challenges, including review bombing from players dissatisfied with reward disparities between global and Chinese versions. Despite these controversies, the game continues to innovate by shattering age barriers in its character roster.

Chizuko Nagao, codenamed Vino, wields the Persona Ampelos as a four-star Saboteur specializing in Nuclear attacks. She joins Queen (Makoto Nijima), who returns as a five-star Assassin with her signature Persona Johanna, maintaining her Nuclear damage specialization.

The Persona series has traditionally featured young protagonists, with Zenkichi Hasegawa from Persona 5 Strikers (in his 40s) previously holding the title of eldest user. Vino's introduction at age 75 dramatically expands the franchise's representation of Persona users.

While the concept of an elderly Phantom Thief might seem unconventional, Vino's status as a Phantom Idol provides narrative justification. These cognitive beings, created from Wonder's perception of real people, often appear younger in the Metaverse than their actual age.
