The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, produced by Studio Trigger in partnership with CD Projekt Red, became a massive hit following its 2022 Netflix debut. Set in the same universe as Cyberpunk 2077, the series follows young mercenary David Martinez as he navigates the dangerous streets of Night City.

The anime's success helped revitalize interest in Cyberpunk 2077, leading to several in-game additions inspired by the show. Now, Lucy's transition to Guilty Gear -Strive- marks the first time a Cyberpunk character enters another major gaming franchise.
