The Switch 2 is set to host an impressive roster of games, including Nintendo exclusives like Kirby and the Forgotten Land, as well as third-party titles such as Madden NFL 26 and Machik 2. One of the most exciting aspects of the Switch 2 is its ability to run games that previously struggled on the original Switch. Apex Legends was one such title, often criticized for its subpar performance on the older hardware. During the recent Nintendo Direct on July 31, it was officially announced that Apex Legends will debut on the Switch 2 on August 5. The game will feature improved graphics and performance, along with its signature Battle Royale mode and limited-time events. While Respawn Entertainment has yet to reveal specific technical details, the Switch 2’s powerful hardware ensures a significant upgrade over the original Switch version.

In addition to the Switch 2 release, players on both Switch 1 and Switch 2 can unlock a Legendary Pathfinder skin by logging into Apex Legends before September 16. This move by Nintendo aims to strengthen its foothold in the competitive gaming market, offering a console capable of rivaling other high-performance gaming systems.

Respawn Entertainment has also been actively refining Apex Legends, introducing new content and gameplay adjustments. Recently, the developer tested temporary ranked matchmaking changes to improve balance for high-skilled players. Additionally, a new permanent Wildcard mode is set to debut, featuring 30-player lobbies on Kings Canyon with streamlined loot systems and enhanced mobility options.
