McDonald's and The Pokémon Company have joined forces once again to bring fans an exciting new collection of Happy Meal toys, set to debut in Japan this August. This marks the latest chapter in their long-standing partnership, which has previously included everything from themed meals to exclusive in-game content.

The collaboration will feature two distinct waves of Pokémon-themed toys, each offering unique play experiences. The first wave, available from August 8-14, includes fan-favorite characters like Pikachu, Mega Lucario, Charmander, and Squirtle. Each toy features interactive elements - Squirtle balances on a Poké Ball that swings when moved, while Mega Lucario comes with a target game for desk play.

The second wave (August 15-21) completes the original starter trio with Bulbasaur, along with Eevee, Mega Charizard, and another Pikachu variant. Particularly exciting is the inclusion of a rare secret toy that collectors will want to watch for. These toys showcase innovative designs, such as Eevee's wiggling keychain with Poké Ball carabiner and Pikachu's wheel-based wobble action.

Adding to the excitement, McDonald's Japan will simultaneously release special Pokémon Trading Card Game promotional cards from August 8-11 (or while supplies last). The collection features adorable artwork including Pikachu reaching for a burger, along with newer generation starters Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.

This promotion follows the successful pattern of previous McDonald's Pokémon collaborations, which typically begin in Japan before potentially expanding globally. Fans outside Japan may want to keep an eye on future announcements for similar offerings in their regions.
