Assassin's Creed Mirage has officially arrived on Xbox Game Pass, marking the third major title added to the service in August 2025. This release brings the total number of new Xbox Game Pass titles this year to an impressive 98.

Originally released in October 2023, Assassin's Creed Mirage represents Ubisoft's deliberate return to the franchise's core identity. While utilizing the modern engine developed for post-Syndicate titles, the game revives classic elements like focused stealth mechanics, intricate parkour systems, and mission structures reminiscent of the series' early days. Set primarily in 9th-century Baghdad, the game balances nostalgic gameplay with contemporary features such as skill progression and avian reconnaissance.

Nearly two years after its initial launch, Assassin's Creed Mirage joined Xbox Game Pass on August 7, 2025. Available across all subscription tiers except Core, the game can be experienced on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC, and through Xbox Cloud Gaming - the latter being an exclusive benefit for Ultimate subscribers.

Among August 2025's Xbox Game Pass additions, Mirage currently holds the highest critical acclaim with a 'Strong' OpenCritic rating (76 average score, 73% recommendation). While not matching the scores of Valhalla or Shadows, it has earned particular praise for its mission diversity, social stealth systems, and authentic recreation of Abbasid-era Baghdad.

For subscribers who appreciate the franchise's original formula, Mirage offers a compelling experience. This marks the first Assassin's Creed addition since Valhalla joined in 2024, with Origins and Odyssey remaining available in the catalog.

Upcoming Xbox Game Pass Titles

The service will soon welcome Aliens: Fireteam Elite on August 12, followed by 9 Kings in early access on August 14. However, subscribers should note several titles, including Persona 3 Reload, will depart on August 15.
