Nintendo Begins Sending Out Switch 2 Pre-Order Invites

Nintendo has officially begun sending out Switch 2 pre-order invitations to users who signed up through its official website. The Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order process faced delays due to international tariffs, but U.S. fans finally had the opportunity to secure their consoles from major retailers like GameStop, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target starting April 24. However, the initial pre-order phase was far from smooth.

Severe technical issues plagued the Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order launch, as retailers struggled to handle the overwhelming demand for the next-generation hybrid console. Even after resolving these glitches, the limited stock sold out almost instantly, leaving many fans disappointed.

Now, Nintendo is offering another opportunity for fans to pre-order the Switch 2 ahead of its June 5 launch. To combat scalpers, the company allowed users to register for a pre-order invite directly on its website. Priority is given to those with an active 12-month Nintendo Switch Online subscription and at least 50 hours of gameplay on the original Switch. Invitations are now being dispatched, and recipients will have a 72-hour window to complete their purchase. New invites will continue to be sent out until May 12, depending on availability. Users are advised to check Nintendo's official pages for the two Switch 2 bundles, as some may have been approved without receiving an email notification.

  • Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle - $499.99

Invited users won’t just have access to the console—they’ll also be able to pre-order Switch 2 accessories and games directly from Nintendo. This includes the exclusive Switch 2 GameCube controller, which will be available to all Switch Online subscribers starting May 13, assuming any remain in stock.

Given the high demand, Switch 2 inventory is expected to sell out quickly. Nintendo has already cautioned that pre-orders in Japan exceeded available stock, and a similar scenario could unfold in the U.S.
