EA Clarifies AI Bot Implementation in Battlefield 6 Open Beta
2025-08-08 03:00:01Electronic Arts has released an official statement to clarify the role of AI-controlled bots in the ongoing Battlefield 6 open beta. The publisher emphasized that bot usage is currently restricted to specific playlists and provided guidance for players who wish to avoid them entirely.
The early access phase for the Battlefield 6 open beta launched on Thursday, August 7, available exclusively to Battlefield Labs registrants, EA Play Pro subscribers, and those who obtained access keys during the multiplayer reveal event. The fully open beta period will commence on Saturday, August 9, welcoming all interested players.
EA confirmed that AI-controlled opponents are currently limited to the Training Grounds playlists, specifically within the Breakthrough Initiation mode. This 16-player format uses bots to fill remaining slots, creating a more controlled environment for learning game mechanics. The publisher stated these training playlists will automatically become unavailable after players reach rank 15 in the open beta.
According to EA, the implementation of bots serves as an introductory tool rather than a permanent matchmaking solution. "Training Grounds playlists help players grasp Breakthrough mode fundamentals while offering a less intense experience than full human lobbies," explained an EA representative. Players preferring bot-free matches can select Breakthrough from the "Featured" playlist row throughout the beta period.
The clarification comes following community concerns about EA's initial announcement regarding bot implementation. While modern shooters commonly use AI to fill matches, EA has assured players that Battlefield 6 will maintain human-dominated gameplay outside the designated training modes.
The current beta test runs through Sunday, August 10, with an additional open beta weekend scheduled for August 14-17. Battlefield 6 officially launches worldwide on October 10, 2025.
