The upcoming WWE 2K25 promises a revamped wrestling experience with exciting new features and significant improvements to existing game modes. However, the roster reveals also point to some notable absences from the previous installment, WWE 2K24.

Pre-ordering WWE 2K25 offers several compelling incentives. Digital pre-orders come with a free copy of WWE 2K24, allowing players to jump back into the previous game while they await the new release.  Additionally, the Wyatt Sicks Pack grants access to five wrestlers: Uncle Howdy, Dexter Lumis, Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, and Erick Rowan, complete with their MyFACTION Persona Cards.  Players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will also receive Uncle Howdy and Nikki Cross masks for use in the new game mode, The Island.

One of the most significant additions to WWE 2K25 is The Island, an expansive, explorable WWE-themed environment.  Exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions, The Island offers quests, unlockable cosmetics, and a persistent online experience for up to 50 players, drawing comparisons to NBA 2K's City mode.  While the focus on online interaction and potential microtransactions remains to be seen, The Island represents a significant shift in the WWE 2K formula.

Returning game modes like Showcase and MyGM are also receiving substantial upgrades. Showcase ditches the previous 'slingshot tech' in favor of a more focused, in-ring action experience. Meanwhile, MyGM expands with online multiplayer functionality and the return of cross-brand premium live events.

Despite the exciting new features, WWE 2K25's roster seems to be missing several wrestlers who were present in WWE 2K24.  Fans have compiled lists of these missing grapplers, raising questions about their potential inclusion in future DLC or roster updates.
