Chibi-Robo! Plug Into Adventure! Joins Nintendo Switch Online's GameCube Classics
2025-08-13 11:35:02On August 12, Nintendo officially announced that Chibi-Robo! Plug Into Adventure!, the inaugural title in the charming Chibi-Robo franchise, will be joining the GameCube Nintendo Classics lineup on August 21. This marks the fifth GameCube title to be added to the expanding library, providing another exciting reason for Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack members to celebrate.
Originally launched in Japan in June 2005 before reaching Western markets in February 2006, Chibi-Robo offers a unique platforming experience where players control an adorable battery-operated toy robot. The core gameplay revolves around earning Happy Points by performing various household chores and cleaning tasks throughout the Sanderson family home. While the series saw subsequent releases on Nintendo DS and a Wii remake in 2009, the original developers have since created koROBO, a spiritual successor funded through Kickstarter.
Following the recent addition of Super Mario Strikers to the GameCube Nintendo Classics app, Switch 2 owners will soon welcome another nostalgic title to their digital libraries. Chibi-Robo! Plug Into Adventure! will become available on August 21, exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers with the Expansion Pack tier. As the fifth GameCube title and the only August addition to the service, Nintendo has shared a brief gameplay trailer on social media to build anticipation. Players will need to download a GameCube app update after the mid-August release to access Chibi-Robo on their Switch 2 consoles.
Nintendo initially revealed Chibi-Robo's inclusion during the April 2 Nintendo Direct presentation, alongside other classics like Pokemon Colosseum. Notably, this marks the first 3D platformer in the GameCube app lineup, with other anticipated titles such as Super Mario Sunshine expected to follow in future updates. While Nintendo hasn't disclosed specific timelines for upcoming additions, fans can expect more GameCube classics to join the service over time.
