On August 18, DICE rolled out a surprise update for the 2021 title, available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The 9.2.0 update brings the legendary Iwo Jima map from previous Battlefield titles, alongside new weapons like the KFS2000 Assault Rifle and Lynx Sniper Rifle, as well as two formidable vehicles: the A10 Warthog and SU-25TM Frogfoot.

To keep the community engaged until Battlefield 6's release, EA is offering a completely free Battle Pass from August 18 to October 7. This pass includes 60 tiers of cosmetics inspired by iconic Battlefield games like Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, and Bad Company 2. Additionally, six tiers feature exclusive rewards for Battlefield 6, available at launch.

With the Battlefield 6 beta now over, fans must wait until October 10 for the full release. While the beta was well-received, breaking franchise records with over 521,000 concurrent Steam players, DICE still has work to do. The fan-favorite Iwo Jima map returns, now featuring an active volcano, boat landings, and reimagined bunkers and trenches on a sprawling 700x200 battlefield.

Hardware

Update 9.2 introduces two weapons and two vault vehicles:

• KFS2000 Assault Rifle: A bullpup-designed rifle known for its accuracy and control.
• Lynx Sniper Rifle: A semi-automatic anti-material rifle ideal for demolishing environments and damaging vehicles.
• A10 Warthog and SU-25TM Frogfoot: Two new attack jets tailored for ground combat, with enhanced abilities and fresh audio.

The Road to Battlefield Battle Pass runs until October 7, offering over 50 legacy-inspired rewards and 30 exclusive Battlefield 6 items.

Themed Event: Best of Portal

From September 2 to 30, players can earn new rewards by participating in rotating Portal game modes.

The update also debuts a Community Art Series, featuring playercards inspired by Battlefield Friends and created by community artist Pericote9.
