The revelation came alongside breathtaking new gameplay footage of Ghost of Yotei, showcasing the game's evolution from the acclaimed original.

Crafted by PlayStation's first-party studio Sucker Punch, Ghost of Yotei represents the long-awaited follow-up to 2020's masterpiece Ghost of Tsushima. While the original focused on protagonist Jin Sakai, this sequel introduces players to an entirely new hero named Atsu, set three centuries later in the untamed wilderness surrounding Mount Yotei—modern-day Hokkaido, Japan. Atsu's compelling narrative in Ghost of Yotei centers on her quest for vengeance as she hunts the Yotei Six, the warrior group responsible for her family's destruction.

While the single-player campaign appears exceptionally promising, many enthusiasts have speculated whether Ghost of Yotei would incorporate multiplayer components reminiscent of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. Sucker Punch has now addressed these inquiries through the game's latest "Song of Vengeance" trailer, premiered at Gamescom Opening Night Live, confirming that Legends cooperative multiplayer will indeed arrive in 2026. Although specific launch information and gameplay mechanics for Ghost of Yotei: Legends remain confidential, developers have confirmed it will be completely free for players.

The new trailer additionally showcased extensive gameplay sequences featuring Atsu engaging bandits across diverse environments, confronting several Yotei Six members, and navigating the expansive landscapes atop her trusted steed.
