Marvel Rivals has officially unveiled the comprehensive patch notes for Season 4: Heart of the Dragon, scheduled to launch on September 12, 2025. This major content update introduces two highly anticipated Marvel characters as playable heroes, substantial gameplay enhancements, and the game's expansion to additional platforms.

The upcoming season follows the conclusion of Season 3: The Abyss Awakens, which launched on July 11th and introduced Phoenix and Blade as playable characters alongside symbiote-themed maps Klyntar: Celestial Husk and Klyntar: Throne of Knull. The previous season's limited-time Resource Rumble mode provided a fresh twist on Domination gameplay, keeping the experience engaging for veterans and newcomers alike.

Season 4's headline additions are Angela and Daredevil, expanding the game's roster with two distinctive combat styles. Angela joins as a Vanguard-class hero, wielding her mystical Ichors that can transform into various weapons or defensive shields. Her arrival coincides with multiple cosmetic bundles in the in-game store, while the Fruit of Immortality battle pass offers new outfits for Moon Knight, Loki, and Phoenix.

The competitive landscape will reset with the new season, rewarding players who reach Gold rank with the exclusive Angela-Siriana's Silver skin. Several quality-of-life improvements debut alongside the seasonal content, including an expanded emoji wheel system allowing for more expressive communication during matches.

College Perks receive a significant refresh with ten new skins, including the popular Spider-Man Spider-Punk 2099 and Loki Presidential Attire outfits. Additionally, players can earn a free Ultron Wasteland Robot skin through the Scroll of the Immortal Beasts event, while Blade's Will of Galacta costume will be available via Twitch Drops.

In a major platform expansion, Marvel Rivals will launch on PlayStation 4 simultaneously with the Season 4 update, bringing the superhero team-based shooter to previous-generation console players for the first time.
