Following their escape from Midgar, Cloud and his companions explore an expansive game world featuring substantial visual enhancements including upgraded textures and advanced lighting systems. Meanwhile, Kingdom Hearts 4, announced in 2022, has maintained an air of mystery reminiscent of Hollow Knight: Silksong due to limited information about Sora's next adventure. Both projects remain highly anticipated within the gaming community, with recent updates renewing fan excitement.

On Twitter, user Genki_JPN shared translated comments from Lead Director Tetsuya Nomura confirming that both Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 and Kingdom Hearts 4 remain actively in development. The statements originated from a livestream celebrating the second anniversary of Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis, where Nomura indicated that development "is proceeding smoothly" and hinted at knowledge of when Square Enix plans to share additional information about the games. Despite the positive outlook, the developer clarified that the next chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy currently lacks an official title and has not been publicly showcased.

Regarding Kingdom Hearts 4, Nomura expressed similar optimism. As the game's director, he confirmed that development of the next mainline entry in the Kingdom Hearts franchise "is advancing well and according to schedule." While the update remains promising, Nomura provided no additional specifics and did not indicate any imminent announcements concerning Kingdom Hearts 4. Previous leaks had suggested potential worlds that might appear in Kingdom Hearts 4.
