Microsoft has revealed the initial lineup of games coming to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate during October 2025. The collection features ten diverse titles, with the standout addition being Ninja Gaiden 4, scheduled to join the subscription service on October 21.

Breaking from their usual Tuesday announcement pattern, Microsoft chose a Wednesday to disclose the October 2025 Wave 1 roster. This departure from tradition adds an element of surprise for subscribers eagerly awaiting the new monthly offerings.

The newly announced selection includes ten games, four of which were previously confirmed for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The fresh additions comprise Supermarket Simulator, The Casting of Frank Stone, The Grinch: Christmas Adventures, and Evil West. While Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition are part of the lineup, they won't be entirely new to all subscribers. Their cloud and console versions have been accessible through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate since June 2025, with Microsoft now introducing their PC originals to the service.

Supermarket Simulator has already become available as of this announcement, essentially receiving a surprise release without prior notification. Beyond the Ultimate tier, this 3D management simulation is also accessible through the recently introduced Xbox Game Pass Premium subscription, which has replaced the former XGP Standard option. The upgraded membership now includes PC game access—a feature absent from the Standard version—though it comes with a $3 monthly increase, bringing the total to $17.99. Current XGP Standard members maintain their original pricing as long as they continue their subscriptions without interruption.

Three additional titles will expand to Xbox Game Pass Premium on October 15: Eternal Strands, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, and He Is Coming. Both Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and Eternal Strands have been part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate since January 2025, while the Game Preview edition of He Is Coming joined the service back in July 2025. Ninja Gaiden 4 completes the Wave 1 offerings for October. Given that its October 21 release date falls on a Tuesday, Microsoft will likely return to its standard Tuesday announcement schedule for the month's second wave of games.

Several day-one Xbox Game Pass Ultimate releases already have confirmed dates that position them within the platform's upcoming Wave 2 lineup for October 2025. These include PowerWash Simulator 2 and Bounty Star, both scheduled for October 23 releases. Obsidian's highly anticipated The Outer Worlds 2 will make its debut on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate six days later. Before these new arrivals materialize, the service will bid farewell to three titles—Cocoon, Core Keeper, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Unleashed—all scheduled for removal on October 15.
