Blizzard Entertainment is giving away a generous helping of free Hearthstone card packs via Twitch Drops to celebrate the upcoming Year of the Raptor and the launch of the 'Into the Emerald Dream' expansion.

Players can bolster their card collections by tuning into Hearthstone streams on Twitch.  On March 13th, watching two hours of Hearthstone during the 'Into the Emerald Dream Theorycrafting' event will reward viewers with two packs from the new expansion.  Furthermore, an additional six hours watched during the three-day 'Community Days' event, starting March 18th, will grant players ten more packs: three from the Year of the Pegasus, three from 'The Great Dark Beyond' set, and four more for 'Into the Emerald Dream'.

However, fans can enjoy these free pack giveaways well before then. These two Twitch Drop events provide a fantastic opportunity to acquire a significant number of cards for the new expansion and beyond.

The 'Into the Emerald Dream' expansion officially releases on March 25th, introducing 145 new cards featuring the Dark Gift and Imbue keywords, powerful Wild God minions, and the expansion of the Choose One mechanic to all classes. The Year of the Raptor also marks a significant refresh to the Hearthstone Core set and the beginning of a new competitive year.

While the official release date is March 25th, players can actually open their 'Into the Emerald Dream' packs starting March 18th. These cards won't be usable in Standard or Wild format until the official launch, but they can be utilized in the Pre-Release Tavern Brawl. This special week-long mini-tournament allows players to test out the new cards.  Each run continues until a player reaches six wins or three losses, with rewards scaling based on performance.  Every player receives one free entry, with subsequent entries costing 2 Tavern Tickets or 300 gold.

March 18th will also bring a substantial balance patch for cards remaining in Standard for the Year of the Raptor, including buffs and reversions for some cards rotating into Wild. With a new expansion, Core set refresh, balance changes, and the return of BlizzCon on the horizon, 2025 promises to be an exciting year for Hearthstone players.
