STALKER 2 Update 1.5 to Introduce New Weapons and Features
2025-05-29 22:03:06GSC Game World, the studio behind the highly anticipated sequel STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, has dropped exciting hints about new content coming in Update 1.5. STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl launched in 2024 as the fourth main installment in the STALKER franchise, marking the series' return after a 15-year hiatus since 2009's Call of Pripyat.
The game recently received a significant update in May 2025, which introduced mutant fixes, enhanced AI combat, balance adjustments, quest modifications, and technical improvements. STALKER 2 has faced numerous challenges during its development, including delays due to geopolitical conflicts affecting the Ukrainian-based team.
In a recent Discord Q&A session reported by VideoGamer, GSC Game World confirmed that Update 1.5 will introduce two new weapons to STALKER 2. These additions will join the game's existing arsenal, which already boasts fan favorites like the Drowned and Kharod rifles and the Ram-2 shotgun. While the developers remained secretive about the exact weapons, they teased an "early game rifle" and a "pistol," along with "other much-awaited features."
Beyond the new weapons, players can look forward to the upcoming Modkit, fulfilling GSC's promise of enhanced mod support. Following the May update and aligning with the Q2 roadmap, the developers haven’t confirmed an exact release date for Update 1.5 but are "aiming for next month." Additionally, expansions introducing "fresh new perspectives" and a co-op multiplayer mode are still in the pipeline.
Update 1.5 is part of STALKER 2's Q2 2025 roadmap, unveiled in April. The team has already delivered on several promised features, including A-Life fixes, new controller abilities, and visual upgrades. After the weapon additions, the roadmap's final objectives include further optimizations, anomaly fixes, and the next-gen update for the original STALKER trilogy.
