The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone development team has rolled back a UI feature that sparked significant backlash following its introduction in the Season 4 update. Black Ops 6 launched in October 2024 after an intense marketing campaign, while Warzone, the free-to-play battle royale, has been available since 2020.

To celebrate the launch of Season 4, Black Ops 6 offered free access to Multiplayer and Zombies modes, though this promotion ended on June 3. Meanwhile, Warzone received a patch in early June addressing crashes, performance issues, and UI glitches that affected gameplay stability, particularly in Ranked Play.

The controversial UI feature, which displayed store content within Loadout menus, was initially described by developers as an accidental inclusion. However, players quickly dismissed this explanation, arguing that the feature was deliberately tested but poorly received. Many labeled it as intrusive, prompting the developers to remove it shortly after.

The Season 4 update, which went live at the end of May, introduced new content such as multiplayer maps in Black Ops 6 and a fresh point of interest in Warzone’s Downtown area. Despite these additions, the UI feature overshadowed the update, leading to widespread criticism.

Despite the controversy, Call of Duty fans have something to look forward to with the upcoming Ballerina event in June. Based on the John Wick spin-off film, the event will reportedly offer exclusive rewards, including a weapon blueprint for Blackcell owners. The event is scheduled to run from June 5 to June 12.
