Originally, Rovio Entertainment - best known for the Angry Birds series and now a Sega subsidiary - was set to launch Sonic Rumble, a battle royale platformer, in May. However, the developers opted to delay the release to incorporate additional features. Meanwhile, Rovio has been quietly working on another Sonic mobile project that has now surfaced as Sonic Blitz.

Currently available in a limited regional release through the App Store and Google Play, Sonic Blitz presents players with strategic deck-building opportunities. As of now, Sonic Blitz remains exclusive to the Philippine market, with Sega and Rovio yet to announce plans for worldwide availability.
