RuneScape Announces Major Crafting Skill Update with Level Cap Increase to 110

Jagex has officially announced that RuneScape's highly anticipated 110 Crafting update will launch on June 16. This monumental change represents the first-ever level cap increase for the Crafting skill, which has been a fundamental aspect of the game since its inception more than 24 years ago.

Despite its age, RuneScape continues to thrive with active communities in both RuneScape 3 and Old School RuneScape. Maintaining its position as one of the longest-running MMORPGs still in operation, the game consistently evolves with updates that keep players engaged year after year.

The official RuneScape website has revealed exciting details about the 110 Crafting update. Beyond simply raising the level cap from 99 to 110, the update will completely revamp the Crafting Guild and introduce a brand new armor creation system. Players will be able to craft Starbloom Armour through an intricate multi-stage process, with opportunities for upgrades similar to Smithing mechanics. Additionally, the update introduces platinum-tier jewelry that can be enchanted for special effects.

Originally teased in RuneScape's 2025 roadmap, this update arrives precisely on schedule. Crafting holds a special place in RuneScape history as one of the original skills available since early 2001. With over 213,000 players having already maxed out the skill at level 99, this cap increase comes at the perfect time to challenge veteran crafters.

While continuing to support both RuneScape versions, Jagex is also developing RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a new survival game set in the same universe. Though showing promise, this new venture still has significant ground to cover before matching the legacy of its predecessors.

The 110 Crafting update represents Jagex's commitment to keeping RuneScape fresh and engaging for its dedicated player base. By introducing new high-level content and mechanics, the developers ensure that even the game's oldest systems continue to offer meaningful progression and rewards.
