One of gaming's most notorious titles, Postal 2, is making a comeback with a full remake titled Postal 2 Redux. Originally released in 2003 by developer Running with Scissors, this controversial first-person shooter gained notoriety for its unrestrained violence and dark humor. The franchise later expanded with titles like Postal: Brain Damaged, but many fans still consider Postal 2 the series' most memorable entry.

Known for pushing boundaries, Postal 2 courted controversy with its allowance of extreme player actions - from civilian decapitations to police brutality. Beyond the graphic content, the game's dark satire and politically incorrect humor targeting various groups contributed to its polarizing reputation.

Despite ongoing debates about its content, Postal 2 is being revived through a Kickstarter campaign that's already generating significant interest. With over 2,000 backers following the project, Postal 2 Redux aims for a multi-platform release spanning current and previous generation consoles, including Nintendo Switch.

For the remake, Running with Scissors has partnered with Flat2VR Studios and Team Beef. This isn't the studio's first remake - they previously released Postal Redux in 2016 and a 20th anniversary update for Postal 2 in 2023.

Interestingly, the same development team is concurrently working on Postal 2 VR, bringing the chaotic Paradise town experience to virtual reality platforms.

While fan excitement is high, questions remain about whether the remake will maintain the original's extreme content or face censorship. There's also speculation about whether Redux might join the list of banned games like its predecessor.
