Activision has officially confirmed that the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will not include wall-running or jetpacks, putting an end to speculation fueled by earlier leaks. The announcement came during a recent episode of COD Pod, where Senior Director of Communications Stephanie Snowden clarified the game's movement mechanics.

The highly anticipated sequel, set in 2035 as a direct follow-up to Black Ops 2, was revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month. While the cinematic trailer showcased the return of fan-favorite characters David Mason and Raul Menendez, details about multiplayer gameplay remained scarce until now.

Snowden emphasized that Black Ops 7 takes place 30 years before Black Ops 3, which featured advanced movement systems. 'I can confirm, no wall-running, no jetpacks,' she stated, disappointing some fans who enjoyed the high-flying mechanics of previous installments.

However, the developers aren't abandoning innovation entirely. The game will feature an 'evolution' of Black Ops 6's omnimovement system, along with a new wall-jumping mechanic. Reliable insider TheGhostOfHope corroborated this information, suggesting players will be able to jump off walls rather than run along them.

This revelation lends credibility to an October 2024 leak that mentioned wall-jumping alongside other features like body shield updates and the return of the Uplink game mode. With Activision confirming one element of the leak, other details may prove accurate as well.
