World of Warcraft Patch 11.2 Teases Potential Third Demon Hunter Specialization
2025-06-19 06:29:03World of Warcraft's latest Patch 11.2, titled Ghosts of K'aresh, has sparked speculation among players about a potential third specialization for Demon Hunters. During the preview of the new Manaforge Omega raid, developers showcased an intriguing council fight featuring three distinct Demon Hunter characters.
The raid takes players to the Void-corrupted homeland of the Ethereals, culminating in a cosmic battle against Dimensius, the All-Devouring. However, it's the Demon Hunter council encounter that has captured players' attention, particularly due to the appearance of a third Demon Hunter wielding shadow-infused weapons and wearing armor reminiscent of the Shadowguard Ethereals.
Currently, Demon Hunters only have two specializations: Havoc (damage-dealing) and Vengeance (tanking). This would mark the first time Blizzard has added a new specialization to the class since its introduction in the Legion expansion. The potential shadow-themed specialization could fill a gap in WoW's class design, as there are currently few melee-focused Void damage dealers.
While nothing has been officially confirmed, the developers' approach mirrors how they previously teased the Augmentation Evoker specialization in Patch 10.1.5 through boss encounters. The community is eagerly analyzing every detail, though Blizzard may simply be creating an exciting encounter without plans for a new specialization.
