REPO Developer Announces Major Update with New Features and Content
2025-06-21 04:50:13The developer behind REPO has unveiled plans for a significant update, promising exciting new features such as upgraded maps, fresh soundtracks, and additional weapons. In a recent Q&A session, the team addressed 50 player-submitted questions, shedding light on both the imminent update and future plans for the game.
REPO is a multiplayer cooperative survival horror title developed by Semiwork. Since its launch on Steam Early Access on February 26, 2025, the game has gained immense popularity due to its intense gameplay and procedural environments. Players team up in groups of up to six, navigating eerie locations to retrieve heavy objects while evading 19 different enemy types. The game’s proximity voice chat adds a thrilling layer of tension, as monsters can hear players’ conversations.
During the Q&A, Semiwork confirmed that the next update is arriving "soon, very soon," though no exact release date was provided. However, the developer noted that this would be the final Q&A before the update's launch, suggesting that more details will be revealed shortly.
The update will introduce several enhancements, including upgrades to older maps to match the museum's new standards. The museum itself will feature laser alarms, adding a new challenge for players. Additionally, new outdoor areas are planned for future updates, though they won't be included in this release.
Other improvements include upgrades to REPO's carts, a brand-new soundtrack for the museum, and the introduction of new weapons. One of the most anticipated additions is the public matchmaking/server list, which will make it easier for players to team up.
Beyond the immediate update, Semiwork teased additional features in development, such as new monsters, cooperative puzzles, and challenge rooms. The team also expressed interest in adding instruments or noisemakers, though they emphasized the need for anti-troll measures in public lobbies.
