Bungie has unveiled comprehensive changes coming to exotic armor pieces in Destiny 2's upcoming Edge of Fate expansion. These adjustments aim to revitalize underperforming gear and rebalance the game's meta, with particular focus on making neglected exotics more competitive.

The development team continues its tradition of implementing major balance changes with new content releases. Following February's Episode Heresy update that reworked exotics like Citan's Ramparts and D.A.R.C.I., Edge of Fate promises even more substantial modifications to the game's most powerful gear.

Among the most significant changes is the complete overhaul of Boots of the Assembler, redesigned to compete with the currently dominant Speaker's Sight exotic. The update also targets consistently underpowered items like the Hunter's Blight Ranger helm and Warlock's Promethium Spurs, giving them new functionality to increase their viability.

Bungie's June 19 blog post detailed these changes, emphasizing their goal to make each exotic feel unique. Notable examples include differentiating Dragon's Shadow and Speedloader Slacks - the former now affects the new stats system when dodging, while the latter provides team benefits in PvE activities.
