Newly Surfaced Concept Art Reveals Details of Canceled Batman: Project Sabbath Game
2025-06-23 02:00:10Recently, a collection of never-before-seen concept art from the canceled Batman game, codenamed Project Sabbath, has surfaced online. This highly anticipated title, developed by WB Games Montreal, was intended to follow Batman: Arkham Knight and would have introduced Damian Wayne as Gotham's new protector in a futuristic setting.
While Project Sabbath was never officially announced, details about the game have circulated among fans for years. The newly revealed artwork provides a closer look at key characters, including an older Bruce Wayne wielding a cane—reminiscent of his Batman Beyond counterpart—and Damian Wayne in a sleek, agile Batsuit.
The game was reportedly set in a future where Bruce Wayne had retired, passing the mantle to his son, Damian. However, WB Games Montreal ultimately shelved the project in favor of Gotham Knights, which released in 2022 to mixed reviews.
The leaked artwork, shared by former WB Montreal artist Rodrigue Pralier, also showcases alternate designs for iconic villains like Killer Croc—some resembling a humanoid predator—and Huntress in her classic black-and-purple suit.
Fans have speculated whether Project Sabbath would have fit into the Arkhamverse continuity or introduced a new timeline. Unfortunately, the game's cancellation adds to the growing list of shelved DC projects, including Monolith's Wonder Woman.
