Genshin Impact has unveiled its latest endgame challenge, the Stygian Onslaught, in Version 5.7. This new mode presents a thrilling alternative to the traditional Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater, offering players a fresh way to test their skills and teamwork.

The Stygian Onslaught draws inspiration from previous combat events like the Unlimited Fighting Championship from Version 5.5. What sets it apart is its cooperative gameplay option and the unique mechanic where teams begin with zero energy. While the co-op feature has been well-received, the energy system has sparked some debate among the community.

Launched on June 25, 2025, the Stygian Onslaught features six difficulty levels. Players can earn Primogems by completing the third difficulty, while higher challenges offer Dust of Enlightenment and exclusive weapon skins. The ultimate test lies in the Dire (VI) difficulty, which requires carefully crafted teams and strategic planning.

The mode introduces several innovative features:

• A leaderboard system that resets daily
• The prestigious Exalted Ones title for top performers
• Resin-based rewards in the first 10 days
• Location in Liyue's challenging terrain

Unlike other endgame content, Stygian Onslaught allows players to exchange Resin for Domain of Blessing rewards, providing an alternative way to farm Artifacts. However, this option is only available for the first 10 days and requires completion of at least Hard (III) difficulty.
