World of Warcraft is reintroducing the Greedy Emissary event, packed with fresh rewards, Treasure Goblin affixes, Portal Storms, and the Collector’s Bounty buff. This Diablo-themed event will run from July 1 to July 29, offering players an enriched experience compared to its previous iteration.

The Greedy Emissary event, a crossover between World of Warcraft and Diablo, allows players to chase Treasure Goblins for unique rewards inspired by the world of Sanctuary. Originally launched in May and June 2023 to celebrate Diablo 4's release, this event traces its roots back to the Diablo 20th anniversary celebration in January 2017, when Treasure Goblins first appeared in Azeroth.

This time, the Greedy Emissary event brings significant changes. Starting July 1, Treasure Goblins will spawn hourly in Orgrimmar, Stormwind, and Dornogal. Additionally, players can encounter them in Undermine by defeating rare enemies or raid bosses, which may summon Treasure Goblin portals. At 15 minutes past each hour, a Portal Storm might occur in Undermine, opening five additional portals for players to explore.

Treasure Goblins now feature Diablo 4-themed affixes, adding complexity to encounters. Players can use special Elixirs during the five-minute summoning window to introduce additional affixes and spawn more Goblins, increasing both challenge and potential rewards.

Treasure Goblin Affixes in World of Warcraft's Greedy Emissary Event

Treasure Goblins now drop Hellcaller Chests containing Valorstones, gear, and Hellstone Shards - a new currency exchangeable for Tier 2 set recolors. The first ten chests opened daily guarantee Hellstone Shards, while additional rewards include mounts like Inarius' Charger and legacy items such as Tyrael's Charger.

The Collector's Bounty buff enhances the event, increasing transmog drop rates in pre-Dragonflight content. Certain rare items like the Warglaives of Azzinoth see dramatically improved drop chances, with some rates increased up to 10 times normal values.
