2025-07-04 00:34:20Developer VOID Interactive has issued a response to the growing criticism surrounding content modifications in the console version of their tactical shooter Ready or Not. The game is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on July 15, with some controversial changes sparking significant player backlash.
Ready or Not is a hardcore tactical FPS that puts players in command of a SWAT team, handling dangerous scenarios including hostage situations and drug raids. After its successful early access launch in December 2021 and full release in December 2023, the game now faces controversy as it prepares for its console debut.
The studio recently clarified its position regarding content adjustments, stating that certain missions like Elephant, Neon Tomb, and Valley of the Dolls remain completely unchanged. However, six specific modifications have been implemented across both PC and console versions, affecting missions such as Twisted Nerve and A Lethal Obsession.
VOID Interactive emphasized that these changes were necessary to comply with international regulations while preserving the game's core intensity. The developer shared comparative visuals demonstrating how the game's atmosphere and violent elements remain impactful despite the modifications.
In their statement, VOID maintained their commitment to realistic, immersive experiences while acknowledging the practical challenges of global distribution. The studio assured players that such alterations are only made when absolutely required, without compromising their creative vision.
