Destiny 2's Tower Vendors Undergo Major Overhaul in The Edge of Fate Expansion

Bungie has unveiled sweeping changes coming to Destiny 2's Tower vendors with the launch of The Edge of Fate expansion this July. The upcoming expansion marks a new chapter for the popular looter-shooter, introducing not just fresh story content and gear, but fundamental changes to how players interact with key NPCs in the social space.

The developer recently confirmed the complete removal of the vendor reputation system for all Tower vendors except Hawthorne. This major shift comes alongside a comprehensive rebalancing of in-game rewards, though Bungie has kept specific details under wraps for now. Each vendor will receive tailored inventory updates to better define their roles and offerings.

Core vendors Ada-1, Banshee-44, and Cryptarch Rahool will see focused specialization in their inventories. The Gunsmith will transition to offering only legacy weapons at fixed prices, while Rahool maintains exotic armor focusing capabilities - though limited to previous expansions. Ada-1 takes on additional responsibilities by absorbing Xur's legendary armor stock alongside her existing transmog services.

The weekend exotic merchant Xur undergoes perhaps the most dramatic transformation. His inventory shifts exclusively to exotic offerings, with two armor pieces per class weekly - one legacy and one from recent expansions. His legendary weapon selection expands to include Brave Arsenal, Legacy Nightfall, and Trials of Osiris options, totaling nine weekly rotating guns.
