Electronic Arts' highly anticipated Skate reboot has made history by becoming the company's most successful playtest sign-up ever. The skateboarding simulation title, which hasn't seen a mainline entry in 15 years, has generated tremendous excitement among fans, with over 1 million players registering for the closed playtest.

The development team at Full Circle recently announced this milestone on EA's official forums, revealing they're sending daily invitations to participants throughout July. This overwhelming response comes despite some controversy surrounding the game's free-to-play model and early implementation of microtransactions.

Creative Director Jeff Seamster has expressed confidence in the project, stating this iteration represents the best the franchise has ever felt in terms of gameplay and performance. The team expanded testing to console platforms earlier this year, broadening access beyond PC players.

For those who don't receive playtest invitations, EA confirms the game will enter early access later in 2025. While the initial release won't include an offline mode, developers haven't ruled out adding this feature in future updates.
