This new variant includes an extra card slot specifically reserved for the recently introduced baby Pokemon. While rumors about these adorable newcomers had been circulating before the official announcement, their inclusion brings fresh dynamics to the game.

Previously, Pokemon TCG Pocket offered two types of booster packs: Regular and Rare (often referred to as God Packs by players). The key distinction between them lies in their drop rates. Rare packs boast significantly higher chances of containing scarce cards, whereas Regular packs predominantly yield common ones.

With the launch of Pokemon TCG Pocket's Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion, the Regular +1 booster pack was introduced. Unlike standard packs, which contain five cards, these new packs offer six. The sixth slot is exclusively reserved for baby Pokemon, with a 30% chance of pulling a common variant and a 13% chance for a full-art version. Players can check the detailed drop rates by tapping the Offering Rates button in the pack-opening menu.

Fortunately, obtaining a Regular +1 booster pack isn't as rare as one might think. With an approximate 9% drop rate, players have a decent chance of acquiring multiple packs, which is excellent news for fans of the newly added baby Pokemon cards. It's important to note that the drop rates for the first five slots in Regular +1 packs mirror those of Regular packs—only the sixth slot differs.

The future of Regular +1 packs remains uncertain, but if they continue to appear in upcoming sets, their sixth slot could be utilized for other valuable card types. One popular theory suggests that Pokemon TCG Pocket's rumored Mega Evolutions might be exclusive to Regular +1 packs. Given that Mega Evolutions are expected to be limited in number—similar to baby Pokemon—this strategy would align with the game's current approach.

According to earlier leaks, Mega Evolutions are anticipated to debut in Pokemon TCG Pocket this October, likely as a nod to the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Many fans speculate that the introduction of Regular +1 packs is a precursor to these highly anticipated additions. However, players may need to wait until the A4a and A4b mini-sets arrive to confirm these theories.
