The original Rayman game debuted in 1995 as a charming 2D platformer for PlayStation and 3DO systems, introducing players to a vibrant world filled with Electoons and imaginative bosses. The franchise later evolved into 3D with 1999's critically acclaimed Rayman 2: The Great Escape. While the series' last mainline console entry was 2013's Rayman Legends, the character has maintained relevance through appearances in titles like Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.

Industry insider NashWeedle recently sparked speculation by revealing that Ubisoft might be working on two separate Rayman ventures. The more intriguing project appears to be a compilation of classic Rayman titles optimized for contemporary gaming systems, potentially adopting the beautiful hand-drawn aesthetic that made Rayman Legends visually distinctive.

While Ubisoft maintains its standard policy of not commenting on rumors, the company's recent renewal of the Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc trademark in September 2024 has fueled fan anticipation. This 2003 title, originally released for PS2 and GameCube, hasn't seen a re-release in over two decades.
