On August 31, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launched their ultimate Shiny Treasure of Ruin Tera Raid event alongside special Mass Outbreak occurrences, making Shiny Chi-Yu accessible for trainers to challenge. Players have until September 14 to confront Shiny Chi-Yu and encounter increased appearances of Fire-type Pokemon like Vulpix and Numel.

Recognized as one of the Ruinous Pokemon, Chi-Yu belongs to the Treasures of Ruin quartet, Paldea's legendary group. Since the Pokemon Presents showcase on July 22, Scarlet and Violet have featured a rotating Shiny Treasures of Ruin Tera Raid event enabling trainers to battle radiant versions of creatures such as Ting-Lu in Five-Star raids. However, capturing these Shiny Legendary Pokemon requires an extra step: after trainers collectively defeat a Shiny Treasure of Ruin one million times, it becomes available as a Mystery Gift through internet distribution until September 30.

Trainers preparing to challenge Shiny Chi-Yu in Tera Raids should come well-equipped. According to Serebii.net, Shiny Chi-Yu utilizes moves including Ruination, Heat Wave, Flamethrower, Snarl, and Dark Pulse during combat. The Ruinous Pokemon will activate a raid shield early in the battle and subsequently reset Tera Orb charges. While Shiny Chi-Yu boasts impressive special attack and special defense stats, its dependence on special Dark and Fire-type moves makes it susceptible to Water-type attacks. Given that Shiny Chi-Yu is set at level 75, powerful Water Pokemon such as Azumarill, Kyogre, and Walking Wake should prove highly effective against it.

Similar to previous events, Shiny Chi-Yu cannot be captured directly after a Tera Raid battle. Instead, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers must collectively defeat Shiny Chi-Yu one million times to unlock its availability through a Mystery Gift distribution event later in September. Concurrently with the Shiny Chi-Yu Tera Raid event, Scarlet and Violet are hosting a Mass Outbreak event featuring Charcadet, Vulpix, and Numel. Waves of these Fire-type Pokemon will appear throughout Paldea, Kitakami, and the Terarium respectively, with enhanced chances of encountering their Shiny variants. Both events remain active until 8:00 PM Eastern Time on Sunday, September 14.

During the Mass Outbreak event, trainers utilizing Shiny Sandwich recipes can further boost their odds of discovering Shiny Vulpix, Numel, or Charcadet in the wild. It remains to be seen how many Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will participate in this final Shiny Treasure of Ruin event before it concludes.
