This represented the game's highest player count since its original release period. Prior to this surge, the game typically maintained between 10,000 to 15,000 simultaneous players on the platform. The primary catalyst for this dramatic increase was the implementation of a free-to-play weekend coinciding with the release of the "Third Edict" content update.

Unlike its predecessor, Path of Exile 2 typically requires players to purchase at least a $30 support pack to access the game. However, to celebrate the new update, Grinding Gear Games temporarily removed this barrier, allowing the entire gaming community to experience the game without financial commitment.
