Marvel Rivals is set to revolutionize player customization in its upcoming Season 3 update. NetEase Games has announced that starting July 11, players will enjoy unprecedented freedom to combine different character skins with their favorite MVP animations - a highly requested feature since the game's launch.

The new season will introduce two fan-favorite Marvel characters to the roster: Jean Grey, the powerful psychic mutant, and Blade, the legendary vampire hunter. These additions continue the game's trend of expanding its diverse lineup of playable heroes and villains.

Season 3's symbiote invasion theme will be reflected in new cosmetic items, including terrifying symbiote transformations for Jeff the Land Shark, Rocket Raccoon, and Squirrel Girl. Players can get an early taste of this dark aesthetic with Captain America's Captain Klyntar skin, available from July 3.

The customization overhaul addresses a common player complaint about MVP animations being locked to specific skins. Creative Director Guangyun Chen explained this change will give players more creative control over their in-game presentation and make lesser-used skins more appealing.

The season will also introduce Klyntar, the symbiote homeworld, as a new battleground. While the iconic symbiote god Knull appears as a major antagonist in the season's narrative, developers haven't confirmed if he'll become a playable character.
