Pokemon GO Water Festival 2025: Tatsugiri Forms and Global Exclusives
2025-07-04 04:34:14Niantic has unveiled exciting details about the upcoming Pokemon GO Water Festival scheduled for July 2025. The highlight of this event will be the debut of Tatsugiri, a unique Pokemon first introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which will appear in three distinct regional forms across the globe.
Originally appearing in 2022's Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Tatsugiri is known as the mimicry Pokemon. While it appears to be a simple fish resting on rice, it actually comes in three visually distinct forms: Curly, Droopy, and Stretchy. These forms will now make their Pokemon GO debut with regional exclusivity during the Water Festival.
The regional distribution for Tatsugiri forms will be as follows:
- Droopy Form: Exclusive to the Americas
- Curly Form: Available in Europe, Middle East, and Africa
- Stretchy Form: Limited to Asia and Pacific regions
The event will run from July 15 to July 20, 2025, with Tatsugiri appearing in one-star raids during this period. Players will need to coordinate with international friends if they hope to collect all three forms.
Beyond Tatsugiri, the Water Festival will feature increased spawns of various Water-type Pokemon including Squirtle, Slowpoke, Magikarp, and several others. Special raid encounters will include:
- One-star raids: Shellder and Ducklett
- Three-star raids: Kingler, Gyarados, and a seasonal Lapras wearing a scarf
Event bonuses will include:
- Extended duration (2 hours) for Rainy Lure Modules
- Increased candy rewards for successful throws
- Higher shiny rates for Staryu and Tirtouga
- Special Field Research tasks offering Mega Energy and event encounters
