In a groundbreaking shift for World of Warcraft, Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Valorstones will no longer reset at the beginning of Season 3 in The War Within expansion. This marks the first time in over two years that players won't have their hard-earned currency wiped clean with a new season.

Originally introduced as Flightstones during Dragonflight, Valorstones serve as one of two primary currencies for gear upgrades in The War Within, working alongside Crests. While easily obtainable through various in-game activities, these currencies have historically been reset to zero at each seasonal transition - until now.

This policy change means players can strategically accumulate up to 2,000 Valorstones before Season 3 launches, allowing for immediate gear upgrades when The War Within's next major update arrives. While Ethereal Crests will still need to be acquired in Patch 11.2 for upgrades, the preserved Valorstones will significantly accelerate the gearing process.

The decision addresses one of the community's most frequent complaints about the currency system. Previously, players often found themselves with surplus Valorstones at season's end that would simply vanish, while facing shortages during early-season gearing. This change creates a more balanced economy throughout the entire seasonal cycle.

Players should note that the Warbound Valorstone transfer feature, introduced with the Season 2 Turbo Boost, will remain active until Season 3 begins. This provides a limited-time opportunity to distribute currency across characters in preparation for the new season.

Alongside this currency update, recent Public Test Realm builds have revealed significant changes to World of Warcraft's banking system. The outdated Reagent Bank and Void Storage systems are being replaced with a more flexible Warband Bank-style interface, featuring up to six customizable tabs for improved inventory management.
