Xbox Game Pass continues its impressive 2025 lineup with the upcoming addition of Frostpunk 2, the highly anticipated sequel from 11 Bit Studios. The game will make its console debut on September 18, 2025, available as a day-one release on Microsoft's subscription service.

Originally launched as a PC exclusive in September 2024, Frostpunk 2 defied expectations by selling over 500,000 copies within months of release. Following a major free update in May 2025, the developers have now confirmed the console versions will arrive complete with all current content and improvements.

The console release will feature two special editions for collectors. The $49.99 Icebreaker Edition includes a New London pop-up diorama and digital bonuses, while the premium $99.99 Whiteout Edition adds a multi-layered shadowbox, collectible items, and access to future DLC content. Both are available for pre-order through Skybound Games.

2025 has proven to be a standout year for Xbox Game Pass, with major titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Doom: The Dark Ages joining the service. The summer lineup continues this trend with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, setting the stage for Frostpunk 2's September arrival.
