The Gears of War franchise began nearly two decades ago and has since become one of Xbox's most recognizable and beloved series. The original trilogy, released between 2006 and 2011 for Xbox 360, followed the story of Marcus Fenix, a soldier in the Coalition of Ordered Governments, as he and his comrades battled against the reptilian Locust Horde in a desperate struggle for humanity's survival.

With Gears of War: Reloaded now accessible through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC subscriptions, players have the opportunity to either revisit this acclaimed third-person shooter or experience it for the very first time. While this isn't The Coalition's first attempt at remastering the original game—Gears of War: Ultimate Edition accomplished this back in 2015 and remains available on Game Pass—Reloaded represents a significant upgrade over that previous effort.
