Konami appears to be turning to its dedicated fanbase for guidance on the future direction of the iconic Metal Gear franchise. A recently discovered survey from the company suggests that after the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, additional remakes of classic series entries might be in development.

Last month, Konami launched Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a comprehensive remake of the critically acclaimed 2004 title Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Despite some technical criticisms, the remake achieved impressive sales of one million copies on its launch day and has been generally well-received by both critics and players. This success demonstrates the continuing appetite for modernized versions of Hideo Kojima's legendary stealth action series. With the Snake Eater remake now available, attention has naturally shifted to Konami's future plans for the franchise.

Next week, Konami's Tokyo Game Show 2025 presentation will feature a Metal Gear Solid Production Hotline livestream showcasing the new Fox Hunt multiplayer mode for the Snake Eater remake. Following this broadcast, the company will distribute a survey seeking viewer opinions. Twitter user Metal Gear Network obtained the survey questions and highlighted an particularly interesting item in a recent post. This question presents participants with a list of Metal Gear titles and asks them to select all the series entries they "would like to see remade."

The inclusion of numerous options suggests Konami is evaluating remakes across the entire Metal Gear series timeline, not just focusing on beloved entries like Guns of the Patriots and Sons of Liberty. The presence of Metal Gear Solid 5 titles is somewhat surprising, given that Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain released relatively recently in 2014 and 2015 respectively. Nevertheless, the success of the Snake Eater remake indicates renewed interest in the Metal Gear franchise, suggesting fans have much to anticipate in coming years, including the highly awaited Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 2.
