A new report from a trusted industry insider suggests that the next Nintendo Direct is imminent, likely aligning with the launch of the Switch 2. While the event may not focus solely on Nintendo's next-gen console, it is expected to reveal several key game release dates.

The prediction comes from Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe, a Brazilian journalist known as PH Brazil. Lippe has a strong track record with Nintendo-related leaks, including being the first to report that the Switch 2 would launch in 2025—a time when most analysts predicted a 2024 release.

During a livestream in late May 2025, Lippe speculated that the next Nintendo Direct could take place in early June, possibly around the Switch 2's launch on June 5. However, the event may not center exclusively on Switch 2 titles, as Nintendo still has several major 2025 Switch games awaiting release date confirmations.

Multiple 2025 Switch Games Await Announcements

Several high-profile Nintendo Switch games slated for 2025 still lack confirmed release dates. Titles like Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment are among those expected to receive updates in the upcoming Direct.

As for the Switch 2, the June Direct could serve as a platform to showcase upcoming exclusives such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. Nintendo has a history of unveiling new games in mid-year presentations, making additional announcements a strong possibility.

Why a June 2025 Nintendo Direct Is Likely

Since debuting the Direct format in late 2011, Nintendo has never skipped a June presentation. Between 2012 and 2024, the company averaged two June showcases annually, ranging from full-fledged Nintendo Directs to Pokémon-focused events.

With the Switch 2 launch on the horizon and multiple unannounced release dates, a June 2025 Nintendo Direct seems all but guaranteed. Fans can expect a mix of Switch and Switch 2 updates, along with potential surprises from Nintendo’s ever-expanding game library.
