Pokemon GO trainers are in for a treat as Niantic prepares to introduce the Steel/Ghost-type Pokemon Honedge and its evolutions, Doublade and Aegislash, to the mobile game. These sword-inspired creatures from the Kalos Region will make their debut during the Ultra Unlock: Steel and Scales event running from July 22 to July 27.

Originally appearing in Pokemon X and Y, the Honedge evolutionary line stands out with its unique medieval weapon designs. Aegislash, the final evolution, features a special battle mechanic allowing it to switch between Shield Forme and Blade Forme, adding strategic depth to Pokemon GO battles.

The event brings exciting bonuses including:

• 4× XP and Stardust for catching Pokemon
• Increased shiny rates for Bagon, Beldum, and Unown U
• Special Field Research tasks
• New wild encounters including Rookidee's shiny debut

Trainers can evolve Honedge into Doublade with 25 candies, then into Aegislash with 100 candies - no special evolution items required. The Pokemon will be available through multiple methods:

• Wild encounters
• GO Battle League rewards
• One-Star Raids

This release marks the first Kalos Region Pokemon added during the current Delightful Days season, potentially signaling more Generation 6 Pokemon coming to Pokemon GO soon. The event overlaps with the ongoing 9th Anniversary celebration, giving trainers plenty of reasons to explore throughout July.
