The tactical FPS game Ready or Not has recently achieved its highest player count on Steam since December 2024, signaling a possible turnaround after weeks of community backlash. The game, developed by VOID Interactive, faced significant criticism following controversial content changes, but the latest data suggests players might be warming up to the updates.

The controversy began when VOID Interactive announced it would tone down certain mature content, including nudity and gore, to comply with console regulations ahead of the game's console launch. This decision led to a wave of negative reviews on Steam and even calls for a boycott from some players.

Surprisingly, the release of the Los Suenos Stories update on July 15, which implemented these controversial changes, coincided with a 120% increase in player numbers compared to the previous day. The surge even surpassed the game's previous peak record from December 2024 by approximately 20%, suggesting that the community might be gradually accepting the changes.
