The developer, fresh off the massive success of Baldur's Gate 3, temporarily switched its official Twitter account to "@divinity," leading many to believe this signaled development of the next installment in the beloved RPG series.

Following Baldur's Gate 3's extraordinary reception - selling over 15 million copies and winning numerous Game of the Year awards - Larian shocked fans by announcing no plans for BG3 DLC or sequels. This left the gaming community eagerly speculating about what the acclaimed studio might work on next.

Michael Douse, Larian's publishing director, provided clarity about the Twitter situation. He explained the handle change was part of standard IP protection measures, as the Divinity series lacked an official Twitter presence. The platform transferred relevant handles to prevent potential scams, though an error temporarily changed Larian's main account to @divinity.

While Douse's explanation makes sense from a business perspective, many industry observers still believe Divinity: Original Sin 3 could be in development. The 2017 release of Original Sin 2 was both a critical and commercial success, making a sequel seem like a natural next step for the studio.
